PERU, Ind. - The Forester men’s golf team hosted its first ever Rumble at the Rock at Rock Hollow Golf Club over the weekend. The invitational featured three rounds of match play.

In first round action, Huntington dominated Manchester 4-1 to win the head-to-head match-up. Cale Carr (4&2), Lance Hoch (5&3), Logan DeMaa (4&2) and Zach Borntreger (4&2) each beat their Spartan counterparts for the early lead on Friday.

While HU kept things close over the final two rounds, Carr was the only Forester to post another win by outlasting Indiana Tech’s Tyler Willette, 2 up, in round two.

“The men provided our team with a solid consistent effort and a never-quit attitude in extreme conditions over 54 holes in two days,” said Coach Sholund. “I am proud of them and privileged to coach them and watch them evolve. They are beginning to see how competitive they can be and understand h ow to limit their mistakes.”

Saint Francis finished first with 13 points by going 3-0. Indiana Tech posted two wins against one loss to finish with 10 points. HU earned five points and went 1-2 while Manchester registered two points and was held winless at 0-3.

The Foresters are back at it on Monday for a two-day invitational hosted by the University of Saint Francis.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
