INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Playing at the Broadmoor Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, the Forester men’s golf team shot seven strokes better on day two of the Broadmoor Invite hosted by Marian University to finish eighth with a 667 (337, 330).

Four Foresters competed with Lance Hoch leading the way with a 157 (77, 80) to finish in a tie for 22nd out of 54 golfers. Logan DeMaa carded a 163 (79, 84) for a share of 32nd place. Zach Borntreger turned in a 166 (86, 80) while Alex Creekmur posted a 181 (95, 86).

“I continue to see many positive things from the players each week,” said Coach Sholund. “Our short games are improving and we continue to compete for every shot. These things will help us be more competitive as we enter the home stretch of the season.” 

The title stayed local as Marian won the invitational with a 601 followed by Cardinal Stritch (603), Mount Vernon (615), IU South Bend (631), St. Xavier (641), Bethel (647), Spring Arbor (648), HU (667) and IU Kokomo (680).

Huntington has a break before competing in the Cougar Spring Classic hosted by Mount Vernon on April 16.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
