Joseph Njeri paced HU with a winning time of 26:33. Nick Johnson and Joseph Herber tied for second with identical times of 26:46. Dan Lindbloom was fourth in 26:53. Alec Rosario got in the scoring with his sixth place finish in 26:59 and Luke Diehl was seventh in 27:11 to round out the Foresters' top finishers. Other HU runners included Josh Barnett (12th, 28:02) and David Boyer (18th, 30:33).
"The intent was to pack up and stay together most of the way," said Coach King. "We knew it would get spread out by the end, but we did a nice job, especially the freshmen."
Following HU who won the event with 16 points was St. Xavier (43), St. Francis (83) and Holy Cross (111).
The Forester women also ran well putting three in the top five finishers. Krystal McHenry came in second with a time of 20:36. Jill Roughia was fourth in 20:56 and Bradie Vance was fifth in 21:30. HU's remaining three runners included Britley McConnell (11th, 22:59), Joanna Stebing (12th, 23:11) and Molly Shirey (24th, 24:38).
The women finished second with 34 points behind St. Francis who won the event with 25 points.
