UPLAND, Ind. – The Huntington women’s tennis team road tripped to Upland Tuesday afternoon where they notched a 6-3 win over the Trojans of Taylor University (4-3, 1-3) at Meier Tennis Courts. The win marks the Foresters’ second straight win over TU having beaten the Trojans last season 7-2.

Huntington picked up points at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles for the early 2-1 advantage and then picked up four straight-set wins in singles play to solidify their third win of the year. HU improves to 3-1 overall and that same record in the Crossroads League.

“The team had to play on a short turnaround schedule after playing a long match against IWU on Monday,” said Coach Roger Ferguson. “Fatigue was a big factor for us against Taylor but the ladies gutted it out and produced the win.”

Huntington will take a break from league play to compete in ITA Regionals slated for September 15-17.
