HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The #RV Forester softball team will take the field at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16 of the 2016 NAIA National Championship Opening Round. HU will face the host Lady Eagles of Reinhardt University (41-10).

Huntington enters the opening round with a record of 36-17 after clinching an automatic bid as the Crossroads League tournament runner-up. This is the second time the Foresters have advanced to the NAIA's postseason tournament with the first dating back to 2014.

The 14th-ranked Lady Eagles (Ga.) are currently riding a 17-game winning streak after winning both the Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championship. This is the fourth consecutive time RU has made it to nationals. They also boast two trips to the NAIA Softball World Series.

William Carey University (Miss.), ranked 8th in the most recent NAIA poll, enters the Reinhardt bracket as the top seed with a record of 37-15. WCU punched their ticket to the opening round as the runner-up in the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament. The Crusaders have earned a bid to nationals three times, twice making it to the NAIA Softball World Series.  

#RV Webber International University (Fla.) will be making their first visit to the opening round after winning the Sun Conference's tournament to claim an automatic bid. The Warriors went 27-14 on the season and will enter the bracket as the 4th seed.

Monday's first game will feature William Carey and Webber International at 12 p.m., followed by the Huntington/Reinhardt matchup at 3 p.m. In addition to live stats, a web-streaming pay-per-view will be available at http://portal.stretchinternet.com/reinhardt/ for the entire tournament, with single-games available for $9.95 and the entire tournament available for $24.95.
