HU Women’s Auxiliary to host 25th Annual Garage Sale Benefit

The Huntington University Women's Auxiliary will host its 25th Annual Garage Sale Benefit from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Oct. 24 in the Merillat Complex fieldhouse on HU’s campus.

Generous contributors have already indicated that the inventory includes furniture from HU Maintenance storage, closeouts of several family garage sales, along with books of most genres and a collection of out-of-print curriculum materials from the close out of the HU Homecoming RichLyn Library Book Sale. Other donations for the sale will be accepted at the west door entrance of the Merillat Complex Fieldhouse from 3:30-7:00 p.m. on Oct. 22 and from 8:00-11:00 a.m. on Oct. 23. Clean, usable items are to be marked clearly with reasonable prices. (Exception: jeans, slacks, shirts, blouses, skirts, sweaters, children's clothes, shoes, and books do not need to be marked). Furniture, jewelry, household items, bedding, crafts, Christmas décor, records, games, office supplies, gardening and yard items, even fresh plants or produce are quite popular additions. Unsold items are donated to Habitat for Humanity, Love INC., Huntington House, ReStore, the Salvation Army and other charities.

Proceeds will contribute to the funding of improvements for an HU residence hall lounge. In addition, the Auxiliary contributes $750 each year to its Math Education Scholarship.
