HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington men’s tennis team picked up a pair of wins over the weekend at Klopfenstein Courts to improve to 4-2 on the season.

The Foresters took a break from league play Friday afternoon to edge past a talented Judson University squad 5-4.

After earning just one point in doubles play, HU was forced to play catch up in singles action and didn’t disappoint as the top three spots breezed to two-set wins while Brody Worl gutted out a W at No. 6 singles to slip past the Eagles.

“Our guys are playing more patiently at singles and being aggressive on the short balls,” said Coach Eckert. “Our goal this year is to be more of an attacking team in singles and doubles than we were last year.”

On Saturday, Huntington was back in action to host Mount Vernon Nazarene University, a program that launched a new era of tennis this fall having last competed in the late 1980s. It was a 9-0 sweep favoring the hosts for the quick win. HU is now 3-1 in conference play.

The Foresters are back in action on Tuesday with a road trip to Taylor to take on the Trojans at 3:00 p.m.
