Huntington named to Military Friendly Schools list

Victory Media has designated Huntington University as a 2015 Military Friendly School. This is the university's third appearance on the Military Friendly Schools list.

The Military Friendly Schools designation is awarded to the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the U.S. that support military students the best and dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation. The survey captures more than 50 leading practices in supporting military students and is available free of charge to the more than 8,000 schools approved for Post-9/11 GI Bill funding.

Ernst & Young LLP complied and weighted research findings according to the following categories to determine a final score: 24% military support on campus (non-financial), 20% academic credibility, 10% military student enrollment, 10% academic credit for military service, 10% flexibility for military students, 5% military graduation rates, 5% student tuition assistance, 5% student survey, 5% for employment rates, 5% military spouse policies and 1% government approvals.

As a show of support for the military, Huntington University's adult degree programs offers discounted tuition of $250 per credit hour for all 100 and 200-level courses for active-duty military personnel and their dependents. To learn more, visit www.huntington.edu/military-students.

"Our military men and women, along with their families, sacrifice in immeasurable ways for our safety and freedom," said Julie Goetz, HU's director of graduate and professional programs. "This discount, along with our prayers for our military, is a small way that we can show our gratitude and respect for their service."

Now in its sixth year, the Military Friendly Schools designation and list by Victory Media is the premier, trusted resource for post-military success. Military Friendly provides service members transparent, data-driven ratings about post-military education and career opportunities.
