Huntington University announces 2013-14 theater season

HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Theater Company has announced its crowd-pleasing season for 2013-14. Four major productions are scheduled for the coming academic year in both Zurcher Auditorium and the Studio Theater at HU. The main season will open with the beloved "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" and conclude with the hilarious British comedy, "Charley's Aunt."
Tickets, unless otherwise noted, are $12 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors, $6 for children 13 and younger, $5 for HU students and $9 for HU faculty/staff.
For reservations, call the Merillat Centre for the Arts Box Office at 260-359-4261 from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Tickets also will be sold at the door before every performance. Tickets are now on sale. Get your tickets today as seating is limited.

In this compelling drama, Rothko faces the antagonizing fear of becoming superfluous even at the height of his greatest commercial success. This searing play speaks beyond the soul of the artist and more notably to all whose creative ambitions drive the desire to be understood. This electrifying new play is written by the same writer of such popular films as "The Aviator," "Gladiator" and most recently, "Skyfall," the latest film in the James Bond franchise. "Charley's Aunt"

When two longtime school pals, Jack and Charley, invite their intended girlfriends to meet Charley's wealthy aunt from Brazil, complications arise once the millionaire aunt sends word that she will have to defer her visit. The two lovesick young men then hatch a plan to enlist their rambunctious unpredictable simpleton school pal, Lord Fancourt Babberly, to impersonate the aunt in order to keep the date with the girls. The result is a perfect recipe for buffoonery and cross-dressing mayhem. This world famous British farce has kept audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter for over 120 years.
