HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Forester men’s basketball program has inked another blue chipper for 2018-19 with the signing of Drew Johnson of Pandora-Gilboa High School.

Johnson has established himself as the Rockets’ most prolific scorer as he recently became PHS’s all-time leading point-getter. The 6-5 small forward has racked up 1,300 career points and counting. With more than a month of his final season still remaining, Johnson is averaging 17 points and eight rebounds per night.

As a junior, Johnson posted 20.3 points per outing to go along with 8.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists and for his efforts has a stack of honors and awards from last season.

In addition to being named PCL Player of the Year, Johnson was also voted First Team BVC and All-District. He earned a spot on the Dream Team’s First Team and was voted Third Team All-Ohio. He entered his senior campaign as a preseason First Team All-State pick.

“We are extremely thrilled to be adding Drew to what is shaping up to be a great 2018 recruiting class,” said HU Coach Ty Platt. “He is a very talented, high quality young man.

“Drew is a great shooter, is strong for his age, has a good feel for the game and is a gym rat. He is a tremendous fit for our program. Drew is a very good student, has strong leadership skills and will make a big impact on our team and campus. We fully expect Drew to have a great career here at Huntington."

Drew is the son of Todd and Leah Johnson of Pandora, Ohio.
