HUNTINGTON, Ind. – In a battle for second place in the league, the Marian women’s tennis team got the best of the Foresters 7-2 Monday afternoon at Klopfenstein Courts. The loss drops HU to 3-2 in Crossroads League play for third place while the Knights improve to 4-1 in league action to currently sit in second.

Huntington’s only win in doubles action came in a hotly contested match at the No. 2 spot where Constanze Golz and Meg Dolde slipped past Maria Lueken and Grace Neathery 9-7. Morgan Bemisderfer posted a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 come-from-behind win over Mary Mullandy at #3 singles for Coach Ferguson’s only other win on the day.

The Foresters host Goshen College on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
