Nursing professor to speak on ‘Scholarship of Teaching’

HUNTINGTON, Ind. Dr. Diana Shenefield, assistant professor of nursing at Huntington University, will speak on the "The Scholarship of Teaching" at 4 p.m. April 24 in Hiner Hall of the Science Hall on campus.

Shenefield will discuss evidence-based teaching strategies to improve critical thinking, as summarized in her doctoral dissertation research with Capella University this past fall.

The seminar is free and open to the public.

Shenefield, who has been teaching at HU since 2009, holds a Ph.D. in nursing education from Capella University and a master's in nursing administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has worked as a registered nurse for more than 20 years, specializing in pediatrics.
