HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University men’s basketball coach Ty Platt has added one of the most sought-after commodities in the area with the signing of Oak Hill High School standout Caleb Middlesworth.

Middlesworth has been a key part of a Golden Eagles squad that has been touted as one of the best in the state over the years. A prolific scorer over his prep career, the 6-8 power forward is on the cusp of becoming a member of Oak Hills’ 1,000-Point Club.

With his senior campaign still in progress, Middlesworth is currently averaging 16 points and 7.5 rebounds per night. The big man is one of the best in the business with a plethora of awards and honors to his name to prove it.

Having averaged 13.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists last year, Middlesworth was named an Indiana Junior All Star. He is also a two-time IBCA Top 100 Player and earned an All-Conference badge as a sophomore.

“We are very excited that Caleb has decided to become at Forester,” said Platt. “We feel like he will be able to make an immediate impact on our team. Caleb is a big, strong young man who has the ability to score from both the inside and the outside. He can rebound on both ends of the floor, has a feel for the game and has his best years still in front of him.

“Caleb has experienced a lot of success on the court as a player and comes from a very good high school basketball program. He is a great young man that fits the mold of what a Forester basketball player is all about and we are excited to see the developments he makes over the next four years.”

Caleb is the son of Brett and Linsie Middlesworth of Marion, Ind.
