HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Crossroads League has announced its 2016 women’s golf All-Conference nominees and among the list is Huntington University freshman Abby Poole.

Poole was one of ten players to be named to the Honorable Mention Team. As the Foresters’ No. 1 player in its 2015-16 inaugural season, she is the first in program history to be recognized by league.

Among Poole’s list of accomplishments this year includes earning medalist honors at the HU Invitational in addition to logging five other top ten finishes. Additionally, the New Palestine native finished 18th in the Crossroads League championships last week.

“Abby’s honor is well-deserved,” said Coach Schownir. “She was medalist in one tournament and tied for first in a weather-shortened event, plus was on the All-Tournament team in two others. She has adapted well to college golf and is a great teammate by the way she conducts herself with humility, responsibility, and maturity. She has a bright future ahead of her.”

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 234 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S. News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
