WINONA LAKE, Ind. - HU freshman golfer Abby Poole fired an 80 to finish second overall at Grace College’s Lancer Invitational at Stonehenge Golf Club on Tuesday and for her efforts was named to the All-Tournament Team. As a team, the Foresters posted a 411 to finish fourth.

Hannah Lochner shot a 101 at the No. 2 spot. Sophie Frazier turned in a 109 while Sara Scott carded a 121. Sarah Maloney withdrew before finishing the round.

Coach Schownir continues to be encouraged by his team’s progress. “We're getting closer. I saw a few things transfer from practice today. We just need to do them more often. Abby Poole played a steady round on a tough course yet she would be the first to say she can improve. And I know she will.”

Saint Francis, behind medalist McKenzie Hedrick (78), claimed the title by shooting a 334 followed by Grace (390), Mount Vernon (398) and HU (411).

The Foresters are back at it on Saturday to play in the Manchester University Invitational at 9:00 a.m.
