HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University senior Emily Puterbaugh was named this week’s Pitcher of the Week as announced by the Crossroads League office yesterday afternoon.

The right-handed shooter logged two complete-game wins last week to stretch her win streak to eight. Against Taylor on Tuesday, Puterbaugh pitched eight innings in a 5-1 decision over the Trojans. She gave up five hits and one walk while striking out 15 of the 28 batters she faced.

Puterbaugh followed up that performance by blanking Purdue Calumet on Friday 4-0. She gave up just two hits and two walks while striking out five for her third shutout of the season.

The Petersburg (Mich.) native is currently 8-2 on the year and boasts a 1.37 ERA. She holds five NAIA national rankings which include being ranked 14th in innings pitched per game (6.515), 22nd in earned run average (1.37), 26th in walks allowed per 9 (0.98), 34th in total earned runs allowed (14) and 50th in total walks allowed (10).  

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
