HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University junior Amelia Recker was named the Crossroads League Player of the Week for the week of November 24 in addition to being named the Forester Athlete of the Week.

Recker guided her team to its second consecutive HU Tournament title over the weekend. The 5-9 post topped the Foresters with 22 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists on Friday in HU’s 66-65 win over the University of St. Francis (IL). The Arlington (OH) native followed that up with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the championship game against IU Southeast on Saturday afternoon and for her efforts was named the tournament MVP. On the season, Recker is averaging 18.6 points per game which places her 5th in the league in scoring and 5.4 rebounds per outing. She is shooting .882 percent from the free throw line, the 3rd best percentage among her Crossroads peers, and has tallied 883 points for a career average of 12.4 ppg.

The Foresters (6-1) open up conference play tomorrow when they host Marian University at 7:00 p.m.
