HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of April 9-15, 2012. Baseball senior Eric Schultz earned the honor for her outstanding efforts during the week's competitions.

Schultz, a Math Education major, set HU's career hits record Thursday afternoon with a fifth-inning single to right field. The base poke, his 231st in green and white, moved him past Heath Luther whose record had stood since 2001.

He is already the Forester record-holder for runs, walks, stolen bases and singles and is on pace to set new standards for career at-bats and games played.

The Palo, Iowa native (John F. Kennedy High School) helped lead Huntington to a 4-2 record last week. He hit .529 for the week with ninehits that included a pair of doubles and a triple. He also scored ten runs, registered seven RBI and swiped five stolen bases.

The Foresters are currently 14-18 overall, 9-9 in the MCC. They return to action today to host Grace College at 4:30 p.m.
