ANGOLA, Ind. - The Huntington University women’s golf program has added Madison-Grant High School senior Sara Scott to its roster for the 2014-15 season. This fall marks the inaugural season for women’s golf at HU.

HU head coach Pete Schownir looks forward to what Scott will offer to the program. “I am excited to have Sara be part of the Huntington University family. She is excited to work on her game and will be a very supportive teammate. I am a big believer in team chemistry and Sara will make many positive contributions to our program."

Scott’s career for the Argylls has been peppered with success. The 2013 medalist at the Central Indiana Conference (CIC) match, Scott was also named CIC Honorable Mention in 2014. She is a two-time Madison-Grant sportsmanship award winner and also earned the sportsmanship award at the Gongaware Golf Academy in 2014.

Scott has also excelled in the classroom with particular interest in art where she has earned two first place finishes in painting and second place in ceramics during her prep career at MGHS. She has been a member of the National Society of High School Scholars the last two years and has also been involved in her school’s student council since 2011.

The Fairmount native plans to major in graphic design at Huntington.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
