MARION, Ind. - The HU women’s tennis squad was one of nine teams represented at the 2017 ITA Regional Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University over the weekend. The competition featured some of the best talent in the Midwest.

A pair of rookies highlighted the weekend for Huntington. Freshmen Lanae Singleton and Lisa Colling teamed up to win the doubles consolation bracket with a convincing 8-1 win over Spring Arbor’s Monika Wynne and Barbara Haikal.

Their journey also included wins over two different pairs of Taylor teams and a victory over teammates Allison Smith and Erin Van Kampen with their only loss, a 9-7 decision, coming to Marian in the opening round.
