Spring Formal Recital Scheduled

HUNTINGTON, IN April 19, 1996 -- The Huntington College Department of Music will present its Spring Formal Recital on Tuesday, April 30, 1996. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Longaker Recital Hall of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The recital is free and open to the public.

The following students have been selected to participate in the recital:

  • Stacey M. Osmun, a clarinetist from Delaware, New Jersey, will play Carl Stamitz's "Concerto No. 3 in Eb Major." The junior music major will be accompanied by pianist Sandy Birdsall.
  • Pianist Lindsey Motta, a freshman pre-med major from Rochester, Massachusetts, will play Claude Debussy's Arabesque, No. 1.
  • Nate Bordeaux, baritone, will sing Charles T. Griffes' We'll To The Woods, And Gather May, Opus No. 2. He will be accompanied by pianist Sandy Birdsall. Bordeaux is a sophomore history education and theatre double major from Huntington, Indiana.
  • Briana Dean, a saxophonist from Keyser, West Virginia, will play Johannes Brahms' "Hungarian Dance." The sophomore music education major will be accompanied by pianist Sandy Birdsall.
  • Pianist Elizabeth Smith, a freshman choral education major from Woodland, Michigan, will play Frederic Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor, Op. 27, No. 1.
  • Marvin McNew, a saxophonist from Huntington, Indiana, will perform Franz Haydn's "Sonatina." The sophomore music major will be accompanied by pianist Sandy Birdsall.
  • Sarah Andrews, a violinist from Martinsville, Indiana, will perform George Handel's "Sonata No. 4 in D Major." The sophomore music major will be accompanied by pianist Sandy Birdsall.
  • Hersel Cremeans, baritone, will sing Vaughn William's' " Youth and Love." Cremeans is a freshman music major from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He will be accompanied by pianist Jean Flint.
  • Lisa Dunn, soprano, will sing Charles Gounod's Lovely Flowers from "Faust." Dunn is a sophomore music major from Genoa, Ohio. She will be accompanied by pianist Bonnie Stephan.
  • Jeanette Lundeen, soprano, will sing Bedrich Smetana's Ah, my darling, we could grow together from "The Bartered Bride." Lundeen is a sophomore music from Ossian, Indiana. She will be accompanied by pianist Jean Flint.
