‘Steak’ author to speak at HU’s Feed A Farmer

Mark Schatzker, award-winning food and travel writer, will be the featured speaker at Huntington University’s second annual Feed A Farmer, an event that recognizes National Agriculture Day.

Feed A Farmer will begin with a complimentary breakfast to honor local and regional farmers. There also will be a complimentary luncheon to recognize the service of agri-professionals. The event will take place Wednesday, March 25, in Habecker Dining Commons. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 9 a.m., and the luncheon will be hosted from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Schatzker will speak at both the breakfast and the luncheon. He is the author of “Steak: One Man’s Search for the Tastiest Piece of Beef” and “The Dorito Effect: The Surprising Truth about Food and Flavor.” He writes a weekly column for the Toronto Globe and Mail and is a frequent contributor to Condé Nast Traveler. Schatzker attended the University of Toronto and specialized in philosophy. He resides in Toronto, Canada, with his wife and children.

The event is sponsored by the Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies at Huntington University, First Farmers Bank & Trust, Strauss Feeds, Troxel Equipment and United Country Real Estate.
