ANGOLA, Ind. - Three Foresters brought home top finishes at the Don and Riley Zimmer Indoor Classic host by Trine University over the weekend.

Jake Nash broke his own school record in high jump with a first place leap of 6’10.25. He also finished 2nd in triple jump with a mark of 43’8.5. Brooks Gerke placed 2nd in pole vault with a height of 13’5.25 while Wyatt Jones had a solid showing in sprints by finishing 5th in the 60 meters (7.31) and 6th in the 200 meters (23.40).  

Other top ten finishes for HU included Scott Skiles in the 200 meters (9th, 24.07), Jaden Kreft in the 400 meters (7th, 53.39) and high jump (7th, 6’0), Chris Reed in the 400 meters (10th, 54.22) and Antonio Castillo in the 800 meters (4th, 2:04.55).

For the women, Christiana Hicks established a new personal best with her first place leap of 35’10.75 in triple jump. The Fort Wayne native also took 4th in the 60 meters by clocking in at 8.44. The Foresters dominated the 5,000 meters by claiming three of the top four spots. Hannah Moore led the pack with a winning time of 19:18.43. Rosie Ditzler took second in 19:43.06 and Natalie Spahr wasn’t far behind in 4th with her time of 20:44.22.

Allison Amstutz shattered her own PR by more than two feet in shot put where she finished 3rd with a heave of 37’3.25. She also had career-best toss of 39’7 in weight throw to claim 9th.

Other top ten finishes for Huntington included Samantha McCoy in the 60 meters (5th, 8.50), Shana Christian in the 400 meters (5th, 1:03.25), Krista Wood in the 3,000 meters (2nd, 11:16.41), Gretchen Pyper in the 3,000 meters (5th, 11:49.84) and Paige Coolman in shot put (9th, 33’5.25).
