A right-handed bowler from Roanoke, Ind., Yeiter is the first high school recruit to commit to bowl for the Green and White this fall in the University’s inaugural season of collegiate bowling.

This past season, Yeiter was the Vikings’ anchor bowler and helped guide her team to an Indiana High School Bowling State Runner-Up title. She finished 13th in singles at the state finals and for her efforts earned All-State Second Team honors. Yeiter, the high qualifier at semi-state, had the sixth highest average in Indiana high school bowling this season at 196.

During her prep years, the Vikings went undefeated in regular season, made four straight state final appearances which included three runner-up finishes, won four sectional championships and notched three semi-state titles.

“I’m very excited to have Ayla bowling for Huntington University this fall and that she is the first to commit to our new women’s bowling program,” said Coach Bischoff. “Ayla is a great individual and comes from a high school program with a great tradition. She brings a great deal of competition and tournament experience to our team. Ayla works hard, is dedicated and will be one of the building blocks of our program.”

Huntington University will compete in intercollegiate bowling beginning this fall. For information about HU and the men’s and women’s bowling programs, contact Coach Jim Bischoff at
