Geiger to present Senior Recital

Huntington, Ind.— Huntington College senior Justin Geiger will present his senior recital on Saturday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m., in the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The recital is open to the public and admission is free.

Geiger, a native of Huntington, Ind., is completing a Bachelor of Music degree in composition with a minor in theatre. His recital will consist of pieces that he has written including a brass trio piece, a marimba piece and a piano piece. Along with these compositions, the Huntington College Concert Choir and Huntington College String Orchestra will perform a mass that Geiger wrote with solos performed by Professor Joni Killian, Dr. George Killian and Dr. John Thompson. The mass, which took him a year and a half to complete, is a culmination of his work and teachings over the past five years. Geiger has dedicated his mass to his late brother Jarrod Geiger.

The son of Junior and Jenny Geiger, he graduated from Huntington North High School. Geiger was a four-year member of The Varsity Singers at Huntington North. He was also in the All-State Choir for three years and was selected to go on a tour of Europe with The Sound of America National Honors Band and Choir. Geiger received the National Scholastic Choral Award his senior year in high school, was a member of the National Honors Society, and graduated with the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma.
