Gipe to perform senior piano recital

 Huntington, Ind.—Jolene Gipe, a Huntington University senior from Columbia City, Ind., majoring in church music and piano performance with an emphasis in piano pedagogy will perform her senior recital in piano on April 27 at 7:30 p.m.

The recital will be held in the Longaker Recital Hall of the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington University. Gipe studies piano under Dr. Patricia Spedden, director of piano studies. Gipe has participated in the annual Concerto Winners Concert for the past two years as well as the Annual Longaker Honors Recital in 2004, 2005 and 2006. She performed in Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Pirates of Penzance” as well as many ensembles at Huntington University. The ensembles include wind ensemble, women’s chorale, jazz ensemble, concert choir and Preeminence. Gipe is also a member of the handbell choir.

There is no charge for the recital, and the public is invited.
