HUNTINGTON, Ind.— After four years of studying everything from musical theater to Moliere, six graduating seniors in the Huntington University Theatre Department will present an entertaining evening of scenes and songs at 7:30 p.m. March 4 in the Merillat Centre for the Arts’ Zurcher Auditorium on campus.
The six graduating seniors include Mary Russell, a senior theater performance major from Columbia, Mo; Samantha Freeman, a senior theater performance major from Portland, Ind.; Bethany Edlund, a senior theater performance major from Fort Wayne, Ind.; Courtney Swenson, a senior theater performance major from Landenburg, Pa.; Philip Black, a senior theater performance major from Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Ryan Arent, a senior theater design and technology major from Grand Rapids, Mich.
The seniors will present scenes and songs from theatrical works such as “Little Women: the Musical,” “Barefoot in the Park,” “Private Lives” and “Almost Maine.” Arent will be doing the design and lighting for the showcase.
“You won’t want to miss this evening. I am very proud of this senior class. They are gifted students with a passion for theater that will serve them well beyond their Huntington experience,” said Jay Duffer, professor and theater department chair.
