19 fall athletes earn Scholar Athlete honors


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its fall sport Scholar Athletes and 19 Huntington student-athletes representing five different teams were among the list of honorees.

The HU men’s soccer team had six Scholar Athletes, the second highest number of student-athletes from one team named to the list.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
