Adams joins Forester soccer program

The Huntington University women’s soccer team has added another great player to their roster for the 2010 season. Caitlin Adams has signed a national letter of intent to continue her playing career at Huntington University. Adams is an accomplished keeper from Hughson High school in Hughson, California.

In club soccer, Adams has played for California Rush, California Cougars, and most recently Ajax United. In 2007, Adams led her club team to a US Club Region H Premier Championship. They advanced to the 2007 US Club National Championships. She also led her team to the 2007 Super-Y North American Finals. In 2008, Adams led her team to the finals of the US National Cup Region H Super Group. Her team also finished first in the 2008 Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament.

Adams has also excelled in the classroom. She carries a 3.85 GPA and is involved in a variety of activities such as the California Scholarship Federation, Gold Renaissance, and Math Club. She has also been awarded the Excellence for Science award.

Adams, who plans on majoring in mathematics, had this to say about Huntington, “I chose Huntington because it is everything I was looking for in a college and all the players on the team were really nice. I’m just really excited to play soccer at Huntington!”

“I’m thrilled that a player like Caitlin decided to join our family here at HU! She is a high caliber keeper who was getting offers from many other schools,” said Head Coach Ryan Burgher. “One thing that we wanted to really focus on this off-season was bringing some depth to the keeper position. Caitlin was a great pick up for us. She is a quality athlete who has trained, played, and excelled at a very high level. She is going to do great things at HU!”

Caitlin Adams is the second player who has committed to play for the Foresters for the 2010 season. She is also the second Super-Y national tournament player to commit for 2010.
