Althoff, Lindbloom named Forester Athletes of Week

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of March 31-April 6. Women’s tennis sophomore Raelyn Althoff and men’s track junior Dan Lindbloom earned the honor for their outstanding efforts during the week.

Raelyn Althoff, a business management major from Stevensville, Mich. (Lakeshore High School), was a double winner for the Foresters in their spring season opener. She outlasted Liz Bajusz of Ohio Northern University 4-6, 7-6, 10-1 at #2 singles and then teamed with Stephanie Strong for the 8-6 win at #1 doubles. The women are 11-5 on the year and will next host Tri-State University on April 7 at 4 p.m.

Dan Lindbloom
Dan Lindbloom, an exercise science major from Evergreen Park, Ill. (Chicago Christian High School), turned in an outstanding individual performance at the Manchester College Invitational. His winning time of 9:21.68 in the 3000 meter steeplechase bested his own school record by nearly four seconds. Lindbloom also met qualifying standards to participate in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held in St. Louis, Mo., May 22-24. Huntington will next compete at the Indiana Little State Championships in Indianapolis on April 11-12.
