Berry, Kock named Forester Athletes of Week

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 15-21. Women’s basketball senior Amy Berry and men’s basketball senior Alex Kock earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Amy Berry, a public relations major from Marion, Ind. (Oak Hill High School), averaged 25.5 points and 7.5 boards during the week to help lead the Foresters to two wins in conference play. In Huntington’s 67-50 victory over Grace, Berry recorded her first double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Against Marian, she finished with 25 points and five rebounds in the 64-58 win. Berry is leading the team in scoring with her 18.2 points per game. The Foresters (13-6, 5-4) return to action on Jan. 24 when they travel to Fort Wayne to take on the NAIA No. 7-ranked Cougars of St. Francis at 7 p.m.

Alex Kock, a physical education and health major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb High School), averaged a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds to help Huntington post two wins during the week’s competition. Kock scored 23 points, including the game-winner with 2.9 seconds left in overtime, and grabbed 15 boards in the Foresters’ 79-77 win at Grace. In the Foresters’ 63-52 win over Marian, he dropped in 27 points and had nine rebounds. Kock continues to lead the Mid-Central Conference in scoring with his 23.4 points per contest. The NAIA No. 5-ranked Foresters next play host to the No. 21-ranked Cougars of St. Francis on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.
