Ewing receives mental attitude award


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University incoming freshman Brooke Ewing (Rochester, Ind., Rochester H.S.) wrapped up her decorated prep career by being selected as the 2013 Mental Attitude Award recipient as voted on by her peers at the annual Indiana/Kentucky All-Star Tournament.

Ewing along with future Forester teammate Shelby New (Greenwood, Ind., Greenwood H.S.) helped guide the Indiana All-Stars to a win over the Kentucky squad. It marks the second consecutive year that both bowlers were selected to the All-Star team.

The Indiana-Kentucky All-Star tournament is an annual USBC event in which the top 16 youth boys and girls from each state compete. The location of the tournament alternates each year between Indianapolis and Louisville. The Indiana All-Star team has defeated Kentucky for seven consecutive years. 

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
