HU ties for 3rd with Taylor at Pilot Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Huntington golf team shot a 619 (307, 312) to finish in a tie for third with Taylor University at the Bethel College Pilot Invitational at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend this past weekend.

Rylan Porter paced the Foresters by shooting a four-over-par 148 (73, 75) to land him a share of second place.

Josh Teulker carded a 153 (77, 76) to tie for seventh. Three strokes behind him was Mickey Belt with a 156 (76, 80). Round out HU’s scoring was Devin Dale with a 162 (81, 81) and Ryan Boester with a 170 (88, 82).

Lance Hoch and Derek Zurcher played as individuals and turned in scores of 162 (79, 83) and 171 (86, 85) respectively.

Bethel shot a 603 to finish first followed by Holy Cross (608), HU (619), Taylor (619), Grace (621), Saint Francis (633), Indiana Wesleyan (639), Roosevelt (642), Judson (653), Trinity Christian (661), Purdue North Central (671), Purdue Calumet (673) and Goshen (686).

The Foresters (58-24-1) have just over a week break before heading to West Lafayette for the Taylor University Spring Invitational.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
