ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Kaitlyn Dreman’s goal at the 53:26 mark wasn’t enough as the Forester women’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Concordia University (Mich.) Thursday afternoon. HU wraps up their road trip to Michigan with a 1-1 overall record.

The Cardinals dominated possession by outshooting Coach Tillett’s squad 33-9 but HU didn’t do down without a fight as they warded off their hosts through the first 45 minutes. The Cardinals finally cashed in on back netting four minutes after break to take a 1-0 lead but Huntington countered five minutes later when Dreman scored her 12th career goal on a cross from Becca Grimes to knot things up at 1-1.

The stalemate stuck for nearly 20 minutes before Martha Mullet struck for the game-winner in the 73rd minute.

Paige Coolman and Mary Whybrew shared keeper duties with Coolman logging six saves through the first period before Whybrew worked the final 45 minutes during which she gave up two goals while registering seven saves.

Dreman and Courtney Baker each finished with three shots.

The Foresters have a more than a week’s break before taking the field again on August 30 when they travel to Purdue Calumet for a 12:00 p.m. kick-off.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
