Huntington competes at Taylor Invite

Huntington, Ind. - The Forester track and field team took a trip south to Upland on Saturday afternoon to compete in the Taylor Invitational. Although no team scores were kept, Huntington brought home several first place finishes on the day.

For the women, Krystal Henry won the 1500 by clocking a 5:15.58. Cendall Ogle also brought home a top finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:56.74. Other top three finishers included Miranda Boys in the 5000 (2nd, 21:15.38) and Kelsey Green in the hammer (3rd, 115-09).

On the men's side of things, HU showed their depth n the 5000 by taking five of the top six places, led by Alec Rosario in first at 15:52.48. Joseph Herber finished right behind him with a time of 15:52.55. In fourth place was Patrick Njugana (17:05.95), Matt Bittner finished fifth (17:19.53) while Lance Wood claimed sixth with a time of 17:19.63. Other top three finishers included Lance Wood in the 1500 (2nd, 4:11.28), Sean LaFontaine in the 400 meter hurdles (2nd, 57.40) and Logan Knox in javelin (2nd, 132-03).

The Foresters will compete next Saturday in the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College in Naperville, Ill.
