Johnson wins Hanover Invitational

Senior Nick Johnson paced the Forester harriers by winning the Hanover College Cross Country Invitational in 25:55.28. He crossed the finish line 11 seconds ahead of the runner-up in the meet. The men tied for fourth out of 13 teams with a team score of 124 and the women were ninth of 11 teams with a score of 266.

Joining Johnson as a top 10 finisher was Joseph Njeri who placed sixth in 26:29.08. Luke Diehl was 33rd with a time of 27:27.98 followed by Dan Lindbloom crossing in 50th place in 27:48.77, Joseph Herber 59th in 28:09.05, Alec Rosario 78th in 28:54.65, Josh Barnett 101st in 29:46.15, Luke Andrews 109th in 30:16.47 and David Boyer 122nd in 31:07.30.

Wisconsin Stevens Point took the men's team title with a score of 40. Bellarmine was second with 78 followed by Ohio Northern (88), HU and Manchester (124), Baldwin Wallace (139), Lynchburg (169), Juniata (212), Wilmington (224), Principia (326), Hanover (355), Thomas More (358) and Oakland City (396).

"The competition at the meet was excellent," said Coach King. "Two of the men's teams were ranked in the NCAA. Nick posted an excellent time and it was a good team finish as well."

Ohio Northern won the women's event with a score of 48 followed by Wisconsin Stevens Point (60), Baldwin Wallace (72), Bellarmine (97), Lynchburg (111), Manchester (121), Juniata (178), Hanover (255), HU (266), Thomas More (311) and Principia (327).

Freshman Krystal McHenry ran a personal best as HU's top finisher. She was 37th in 21:14.41. Jill Roughia was next in 64th place in 22:01.60 followed by Bradie Vance (76th, 22:24.25), Britley McConnell (83rd, 22:44.05), Joanna Stebing (99th, 23:51.14), Michelle Kyler (103rd, 24:04.83 and Molly Shirey (112th, 26:00.10).

"The women ran a good race," said Coach King. "I was very pleased with our day.
