Kasicki and Bemsiderfer win consolation bracket at MU

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cassie Kasicki and Morgan Demisderfer represented the Forester women’s tennis team in the top flight of the Marian University Doubles Tournament on Saturday where they won the consolation bracket.

After dropping an 8-4 loss to University of Northwestern Ohio’s Kate Bondarenko and Raquel Marques in the opening round, the duo bounced back to reel off two consecutive wins against Taylor University and Grace College’s No. 1 doubles. HU breezed past TU’s Katherine Marques and Kelsey Chow 8-1 and also wasted little time disposing of GC’s Natalia Kurkova and Mariah Zumbrun to bring home the consolation bracket championship.

“Cassie and Morgan showed a lot of resilience coming back from a hard fought loss to a very good UNOH squad to run the table and come away winners of the consolation bracket,” said Coach Ferguson.

Huntington starts conference action on Thursday when they travel to Grace for a 4:00 p.m. match.
