Lewton signs with Huntington

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Westview High School senior Jaron Lewton has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Huntington University this fall.

As a senior, Lewton’s leadership was put to the test as he captained his team to a sectional championship while earning a spot on the NECC All-Conference Team. His main role during his last four years in a Warrior jersey has been as the lock down defender on the left side.

Coach Lawson notes, “I am looking forward to working with Jaron because he is the type of athlete that gives you his all. He brings an intensity and work rate that will serve him well as he looks to improve his game and impact our program.

“It also helps that he is coming from a successful program that has won conference championships three out of the past four years. Biology/Pre-Med will be Jaron’s focus off the field here at HU and judging from the effort he puts forth on the field he should have a successful collegiate experience as a Forester.”.

Jaron is the son of Jason and Melisa from Lagrange, Ind.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
