The Foresters were shut out in both games of a doubleheader with Madonna University falling 5-0 and 2-0 to the Crusaders.

In the opener, Madonna pushed one across in the bottom of the first and then added a pair of runs in both the third and the fifth while holding HU scoreless with just three hits in the game.

Lauren Ward took the loss for the Foresters. She allowed five runs, three earned, in seven innings of work and gave up five hits and one walk while striking out 11. Megan Smith had HU's only extra base hit in the game with a double.

The Foresters' struggles at the plate continued in the second game. They scattered five hits throughout the seven innings, but couldn't put anything together to get on the scoreboard. Madonna took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third and added an insurance run in the fifth to complete the sweep.

Molly Long went the distance in the loss. She pitched six innings and allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven. Five players recorded a hit in the contest for HU with Brita Kuiper getting a double.

The two losses even the Foresters' record at 8-8 on the season.
