Ogle and Herber pace HU

 Running on a beautiful Friday afternoon, the men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Wilmington College Fall Classic. The men finished 9th out of 28 teams with 216 points while the women placed 10th out of 31 teams with 313 points.

In the women's 5k race, Cendall Ogle paced the Foresters with a 19:00 finish placing her ninth overall. Diamond Setterberg finished 46th in 20:06. Krystal McHenry was the next Forester to cross the finish line in 20:15 (52nd) and Molly Shirey finished 92nd in 21:03. Other runners were Miranda Boyts (114th, 21:59), Bradie Vance (147th, 22:40) and Abbey Wise (183rd, 25:02).

In the men's 8k race, Joseph Herber established a new PR to lead HU with his 9th place finish (25:36). He was followed by Lance Wood who ran a 26:12 to finish 16th. The next two HU runners were Nathan Rupp (45th, 26:50) and Alex Rosario (59th, 27:06). Other runners were Seth Murphy (87th, 27:46), Matt Bittner (101st, 28:07), Daniel Becker (106th, 28:19), Josh McIntyre (28:26), Ethan Medley (28:42), Alan Huffman (29:21), Isaiah Laatsch (29:33), Fred Olaosebikan (30:05) and David Boyer

The University of Findlay took home top honors for the women finishing with 103 points. For the men, Tiffin University finished first with 49 points.

“We ran well today. You certainly can see the improvement with the results of the meet," commented Coach King. "We got on a little quicker course for the first time this year, outside of our first meet, and we got several new PRs.”

Next up for the Foresters is the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge at Aquinas College on Saturday.
