Huntington University has announced that Muncie Central High School senior Ty Riddle has signed a letter of intent to play baseball and basketball for the Foresters this fall. As a junior, Riddle hit .415 with three home runs and 35 RBI. He also was 6-1 on the mound with a 2.81 ERA. In 64.2 innings he struck out 103 batters. This past winter Riddle helped lead the Bearcats to the state finals with a 13.1 scoring average. Riddle shot over 41 % from behind the arc and over 90 % from the free throw line.
“We are very excited that Ty is coming to Huntington,” says head baseball coach Mike Frame. “He will help us at a position and on the mound right away. He will add another left handed arm on the mound and another left handed bat in the lineup. He is a strong competitor that hates to lose.” Head basketball coach Steve Platt adds, “Ty is a very driven and competitive player that knows what it takes to win. His ability to shoot threes helps keep the defense honest.”
Ty is the son of Dean and Laura Riddle of Muncie, IN.
