Rockey named MCC Runner of the Week

Huntington, Ind. - Huntington University freshman Erin Rockey (Shipshewana, Ind., Westview High School) was named the Mid-Central Conference (MCC) Runner of the Week for the week of October 17-23, 2011.

This past weekend Rockey participated in the Wilmington College Fall Classic. Despite the windy and rainy conditions, she ran to a 20th place finish out of 241 runners and crossed the line in 19:28 to not only establish a new personal best but also break the twenty-minute barrier in the 5K for the first time in four years. As a team HU finished fifth out of 26 teams with 153 points.

The Foresters resume action this Saturday when they travel to Aquinas College to run in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
