HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Huntington University volleyball program has wrapped up its recruiting for 2014-15 with the signing of Pettisville High School standout Emily Hubby.

As a senior, Hubby tallied 392 digs and 342 kills to help guide the Blackbirds to a 21-5 record which included a conference championship and for her efforts was named the Buckeye Border Conference Volleyball Player of the Year.

The two-time First Team All-Conference player also earned First Team District 7 honors this past fall in addition to being named the 96.1 WMTR Player of the Week.

Hubby did a little bit of everything for her Pettisville team and Coach Settle is eager to add her experience to the roster.

“HU is excited to welcome Emily Hubby to our squad,” said Settle. “Emily is a talented all-around player with a wealth of experience in the game. She will be handling setting duties for our team this year, along with incoming freshman setter Annie Pizzo.

“Emily's quickness, versatility and court sense will make her a strong presence on the court. She is used to being a leader on her teams, and we expect her to use those skills to lead our program to greater success.”

Emily is the daughter of Doug and Lora Hubby of Pettisville, Ohio.
