Several Foresters continue to compete

Five NAIA Nationals-bound track runners competed in the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College on Thursday and Friday and each one turned in a personal best time in their respective event.

Lauren Davenport broke her own school record in the 800 with a winning time of 2:09.11. Nick Johnson set a new personal record in the 5000 with a time of 14:46.11 to finish 10th. Joseph Herber ran the 10,000 for the first time in his career and posted the second fastest time in HU history at 31:35.21. Dan Lindbloom improved his own school record in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:15.96 to finish fifth and Luke Diehl established a new personal record in the steeplechase finishing 11th in 9:25.42.

On a windy Saturday, eleven Foresters competed at the MCC-WHAC Qualifier track meet. Davenport remained unbeaten on the season in the 800 with her winning time of 2:16.67. Bethany McGraw turned in a second place finish in the 400 in 1:01.05 and a third in the long jump with a leap of 17-01.50. Kelsey Green had a toss of 121-11 in the discus to finish third. Haleigh Osborne placed third in the shot put with a mark of 38-01.25 and Cassie Lehman ran a 15.53 in 100 to place fourth.

In men's action, Lucas Beach won both the shot put (51-06.25) and the hammer (159-02). Aaron Mills cleared 14-05.25 to win the pole vault with teammate Ryan Morris second with a height of 13-05.25. Sean LaFontaine placed second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 57.33. Kameron Bailey finished third in the 200 in 22.60 and Matthias Haller was ninth in the 800 with a time of 2:01.36.
