Trojans knock 7th-seeded Foresters out of tourney

UPLAND, Ind. - No. 2-seeded Taylor University knocked the No. 7-seeded HU women’s tennis team out of the Crossroads League Tournament 7-2 Tuesday afternoon in first round action.

It was somewhat of a dejà vu for the Foresters as they lost to the Trojans by an identical score in their regular season matchup.

HU’s wins came at the No. 1 singles spot where Cassie Kasicki came-from-behind to outlast Kim Henke for the 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 win. Morgan Bemisderfer was the only other Forester to experience success on the day with a 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 win over Cassie Fleming.

The Foresters (6-7) have a one-week break before traveling to Manchester University on October 8 for a 4:00 matchup with the Spartans.
