Wendling headed to Huntington


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Head Coach Amy Settle and the Huntington University volleyball program have announced the signing of Pendleton Heights standout Ashlyn Wendling.

The four-time All-Conference and three-time All-County honoree did a little bit of for her Arabian squad. At 5-11, Wendling doubled up as a middle hitter and setter to finish her senior campaign with 176 kills, 265 assists and 47 blocks. She led her team in service points with 193 which included 51 aces.

When not donning Pendleton green and white, Wendling plays for Asics Munciana Phoenix, one of the top club teams in the Midwest.

“HU Volleyball is very excited that Ashlyn has chosen to be a Forester,” said Coach Settle.

“Ashlyn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our squad. She is a great competitor who raises the level of play of those around her through her intensity and passion for the game. We expect Ashlyn to make an immediate impact on our program.”

Ashlyn is the daughter of Rob and Tracy Wendling.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
