Brian Welfle to perform senior recital

Huntington, Ind.—Huntington University senior Brian Welfle will perform his Senior Recital at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2006, in the Longaker Recital Hall at the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The recital is free of charge and open to the public.

Welfle, a bachelor of music instrumental education major with an emphasis in oboe, comes from Norwalk, Ohio. Some selections from the recital include Bach’s “Chorale” from “Cantata 147,” Haydn’s “Concerto for Oboe in C Major: Movement II,” Bizet’s “Aragonaise” from “Carmen,” and “Short Suite for Oboe” written by his instructor, Dr. Marlene Schleiffer. He also will be performing “Swan of Tuonela” (for English Horn) by Jean Sibelius.

While attending Huntington University, Welfle has participated in Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Concert Choir.
