FOR RELEASE
2007-07-24
Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Graduate School of Christian Ministries announces its 2007 fall semester classes. The Graduate School offers classes toward the completion of five Master of Arts degrees: Pastoral Ministries, Discipling Ministries, Youth Ministries, Youth Ministry Leadership and Counseling Ministries. The Diploma in Pastoral Ministries is available for those who have not completed a bachelor’s degree. Classes also may be taken for continuing education credits.

The graduate school program is designed for all those interested in developing their ministry skills. This includes men and women who are transitioning to ministry from a secular career and those who are presently serving as ministry staff or volunteers and would like to earn a master’s degree or take specific classes of interest. Classes at the Graduate School of Christian Ministries are intended for people who want to further their education and ministry training without leaving their present ministry or work positions.

Each course is offered in a non-traditional format, typically meeting one Thursday and Friday each month for three months. The block format is designed to be worker-friendly and to allow for an intensive time of interaction as students and professors discuss ministry ideas and issues.

Classes offered for the 2007 fall semester, starting Sept. 6, include: Communicating the Word, Outreach to Unchurched Children, Hermeneutics, Curriculum Design for Disciple Making, Contemporary Practice in Youth Ministry, Celebrating the Lord, Theories and Principles of Counseling, Sexuality and Christian Counseling, and Biblical Theology.

For more information or to register for a class, contact the Graduate School of Christian Ministries at 1-888-424-7231 or graduate@huntington.edu. Information may also be found at the Graduate School web site at www.huntington.edu/gscm. The registration deadline is Aug. 15.
