Alumni to present A View from the Bridge

Huntington, Ind.— A group of Huntington College alumni have gathered on campus to present Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge, directed by Matt Webb, Admissions Counselor at Huntington College. The cast of 14 will present the theatre performance in the Merillat Centre for the Arts Studio Theatre from September 11-13, at 7:30 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Cost of the show is $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors. Audience discretion is advised as some material may be too complex and unsuitable for children.

In A View from the Bridge, Arthur Miller writes about a hard-working Brooklyn longshoreman who’s life has been predictable yet is about to take a devastating turn.

Director Matt Webb is a 1998 Huntington College graduate with a degree in theatre. After graduation, Webb toured for three months through the US with a musical comedy show he wrote about missions. Webb then joined Adhana Ministries with two other alums and traveled to Haiti for two and a half years. For two years, he taught theatre at Quisqueya Christian School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Since returning to the States, Webb has directed Fresh Faces and taught the J-term course, “Overcoming Stagefright,” at HC and starred in a world-premier of Ibsen’s “Brand” at First Presbyterian Theatre in 2002.

The alumni cast for A View from the Bridge includes Troy Lazarus, Shaana Robrock, Sam Ward, Sara Ward, Kevin Whitacre, Eric Wilson with Jeff Check, Justin Clifton, Peter Fairchild, David Kline, Christia Whitacre, Matt Webb and current students Jon Bordeaux and Paco Michelson.
