Huntington, Ind.— The Huntington College athletics department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of September 22-28, 2003. Women’s soccer freshman Robyn Althoff and men’s soccer junior Luke Caldwell earned the honors for their excellent efforts during the week’s competitions.
Robyn Althoff
Robyn Althoff, an elementary education major from Stevensville, Mich. (Lakeshore High School), recorded 12 saves in a 1-0 sudden-death victory over Indiana Tech on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 2-1 drop to Taylor University-Upland, Althoff shone, protecting the goal 23 times as the Lady Trojans fired 25 shots at her. The Forester women’s soccer team will travel on October 1, for a match-up with Manchester College. The game is schedule to start at four o’clock.
Luke Caldwell
Luke Caldwell, a sociology major from Mansfield, Ohio (Mansfield Christian High School) assisted teammate Paulo Moniz for the game-winning goal against Hanover College on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 4-2 loss to Bethel, Caldwell tied the game at two a piece with an unassisted goal in the 51st minute after the Foresters suffered a loss of a player for the remainder of the game. The Foresters will host Davenport University at 3:30 p.m, on September 30.
